This talk focuses on the potential impacts of the pandemic in the economies worldwide (and in Brazil as a especial case). I will present initial assessments of the impacts, associating contries’ responses to epidemiological and economic consequences. I will also present analysis centered in the aviation sector, an important area in the economy that has already experienced serious losses. Several tools were used in the assessments, including exploratory analysis, complex networks and model optimization.

Assistant Professor at UTFPR, Brazil, since 2015. He has completed his PhD in Computer Science at UNICAMP, Brazil, and has done research at the universities of Waterloo (Canada), Pierre et Marie Curie (France), and Orléans (France). His research topics cover a range of Data Science aspects including Complex Networks, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and BigData.
